Getting on the Road

We are about to get started on our latest adventure!  We thought we would be gone by April 1, then April 20, and now it is still a couple of days in the offing.  John has picked the name Traveling
Roadmantics!  We still plan on being home around August 1, which is what we arranged with
Kristi and Nathan, who are staying at our house.

This trip will take us around the perimeter of the continental US. (No Hawaii or Alaska included!)
John calculates 13,000 miles and 26 states.  So we'll see how close we come.

Other than a couple of firm dates, we are free to roam!

For those of you who aren't familiar with our travels, we have a Lance camper, which sits on the back of a Ford 350 dually.   It has a queen size bed, a slide out with a dining area, a refrigerator/freezer, microwave/convenction oven (which we have yet to use) a flat screen TV (ditto) a full bathroom (shower) and all the conveniences of home (from 3000 sq. ft. to 300 sq. ft.!)

This picture was taken last month on a trip we took to Lake Mead, where we camped in the Valley of Fire.

The first question we always get is,  "How do you two stayed cooped up together that long without killing each other?"  The truth is, we have some of our best times on the road!

  1. Dixie and John,
This is SO exciting. I can't wait to hear more as you travel across the country.
