Junior Ranger

Tuesday, June 25, (cont'd)

At the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, this young park ranger gave us the lecture on the TR Elkhorn Cabin.  She was very knowledgeable and also very intense. Later, in the visitors center, she administered the Junior Ranger oath to this little girl who had completed the booklet answering questions about the park.

She did it with such solemnity and emotion that the little girl didn't know whether to be happy or afraid of the awesome responsibility she had just undertaken as an official Junior Ranger.  And she looked to her parents for guidance as she showed them her badge.  Either way, she won't soon forget being sworn in as a Junior Ranger!
