Kind of a down time day. John and Jack did a bike ride, Jack's first on his new bike.
John came back and got into the pool. This is his "doesn't get any better than this" pose!
They went along Braeswood Bayou, Hermann Park by the Zoo, through the campus of Rice University, Bellaire and back, 20 miles in all. Great way to break in the new bike!

Susan and I stayed home, had a chance to talk, do laundry, look at stuff and relax.
Jack went and got the ingredients for dinner. Michael and Divya came over for the evening
and we enjoyed Jack's libations,
His grilled veggies, including red peppers
eggplant and portobello mushrooms, and red snapper
One of the amazing things --- Jack, it turns out, had an 8 mm movie camera when he and Susan first met! He had old movies that he has converted to DVD and edited to make some great new movies. We were stunned to see their wedding in 1972, and lots of friends and relatives who are long gone. What great memories!
Here are a couple of stills I took from an album Susan had.
John walking his mother down the aisle.
Bud, Jane, Susan and Jack
Michael and Divya dipped their toes into the hot tub, and we all enjoyed the evening.
Don't forget - the snake is fake! Designed to ward off the birds. He seems like an old friend by now.
