Lake Placid to the St. Lawrence Seaway

I called a friend of mine, Marcie, who lives near Rochester, NY, hoping that we could have lunch on our way through.  Marcie, upon hearing our plans told us that we needed to "slow it down a little" and enjoy some of the areas of upper state New York.  After hearing her suggestions, we decided to head north toward the St. Lawrence Seaway.  Here are just some sights along the way. Enjoy!

We have passed many many cemeteries, some quite large, which appear to be out in the countryside with no major populated areas around them.   There seem to be more that are gone than are living in these areas.

This sign, in Gouveneur, NY, will require further explanation -- later.

All of the farms we saw around these signs had pick up trucks and lots of farm equipment, so I don't know where the Amish or Mennonites were living that warranted the sign.
